Louvre Abu Dhabi’s museum galleries tell the story of humanity in twelve inspiring chapters. Each chapter focuses on shared themes and ideas that reveal common connections throughout humanity. The works on show range from prehistoric artifacts to contemporary artworks. See the Regions Most Comprehensive Impressionist Exhibition at Louvre Abu Dhabi in October
The exhibition, which consists of more than 100 paintings, 40 drawings and prints, 20 photographs, and five dresses from the epoch, as well as a contemporary video installation, is mainly drawn from Musée d’Orsay’s impressionist collections, which are the first in the world. This is the first time that these exceptional loans from Musée d'Orsay are being lent to the region in celebration of the 5th anniversary of Louvre Abu Dhabi.The artworks on display in the exhibition are coming from a variety of sources, including the permanent collection of Louvre Abu Dhabi, as well as from prominent French institutions such as the Bibliothèque Nationale de France and the Musée des Arts décoratifs. Additionally, Louvre Abu Dhabi will be unveiling a significant new acquisition, The Cup of Chocolate Cup by Pierre-Auguste Renoir 1877 – 1878, in the exhibition.
