Insider Tips

  • Take the Morning Ticket on a Weekday: Weekends and NSW school holidays pack the tunnels shoulder to shoulder, and the timed slots do not stop that. Book a term-time weekday morning and arrive for opening.
  • Arrive Inside Your Half of the Day: The morning ticket admits until 1pm and the afternoon ticket from 1pm, on the date booked. Arrive in the wrong half and you wait.
  • Ride the Penguin Boat When You Reach It: The Penguin Expedition boat ride is included and is the longest queue in the building on busy days. It can close at short notice for maintenance, so do not leave it until last.
  • Time the Keeper Talks: Talks and feeds are included: little penguins 10:30am, dugongs 11am and 2pm, reef 1:30pm, sub-Antarctic penguins 2:30pm, shark feed 4pm. Plan your route around one.
  • Collect Your Digi Photo Pass: Your ticket includes a Digi Photo Pass with eight digital photos. Pose at the entrance camera and collect the digital copies at the photo desk before you leave.

FAQs

  • When is the quietest time to visit SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium?

Weekday mornings in NSW term time. Weekends and school holidays are the busiest, and the timed entry slots do not limit how full the tunnels feel, so book the morning ticket and arrive for opening.

  • What is the difference between the morning and afternoon tickets?

Both are for the date you select and include the Digi Photo Pass with eight digital photos. The morning ticket admits you until 1pm and the afternoon ticket admits you from 1pm onwards.

  • Are the talks and feeds included in the ticket?

Yes. The daily keeper talks and feeds, including the little penguins, the dugongs and the shark feed, are included with admission, and so is the Penguin Expedition boat ride.

  • Do children need a ticket?

Children under 2 enter free. Ages 2 to 15 pay the child rate and anyone aged 16 or over pays the adult rate. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
