Insider Tips

  • Book well ahead: Timed tickets can be reserved up to six months in advance, and dates sell out, especially in peak season.
  • Dress for a church: Cover shoulders, and avoid tank tops, strapless tops, short shorts, and flip-flops, since this is a working Catholic church.
  • Arrive close to your slot: The timeslot on the ticket marks your entry window, so arriving on time helps you get through the entrance without delay.
  • Check the tower rules: Children under 6, people who are pregnant, and people with reduced mobility or serious visual impairment cannot go up the towers.
  • Download the app first: The official app has an audio-guided tour you can load before you arrive, though it is not designed for children under 11.

Rules:

  • Appropriate attire is required due to the church's Catholic nature. Please refrain from wearing tank tops, strapless shirts, revealing backs, short shorts, barefoot attire, flip-flops sandals. Additionally, entry with special celebratory clothing is not permitted.
  • Children under 6 years, pregnant women, and people with reduced mobility or serious visual impairments cannot visit the towers.

Know Before You Go

Entry & Services:

  • Even though children are free, it's still necessary to reserve a ticket for them (to monitor visitor numbers).
  • Children under 11 years and disabled visitors are free of charge but still require an admission ticket, which can be obtained from the ticketing counter. A valid ID is required.
  • The hours and days of opening to the public can be exceptionally modified by the Management in case of special events inside the Basilica.
  • Download the Sagrada Família app on your mobile device for an audio-guided visit before arriving.
  • Please note that the audio guide is not suitable for children under 11.
  • If you wish to purchase a children's ticket, you must also purchase at least one adult ticket.
  • To ensure a hassle-free experience, we suggest booking your La Sagrada tickets in advance, which can be done up to six months beforehand.
  • Additionally, please note that timed tickets must be purchased ahead of time.
  • Visitors with disabilities also have complimentary access and can collect tickets on-site.
  • Your chosen timeslot indicates your entry window; however, you're welcome to stay throughout opening hours.

FAQs

  • Are there wheelchairs available?

Yes, the tours of the Sagrada Familia are wheelchair accessible, and you can choose your preferred time slot. Wheelchairs can be requested at Entrance C on Carrer de la Marina, though availability may be limited.

  • How long do I need to tour Sagrada Familia?

The time needed varies depending on how much of the site is explored, from a quick look at the main nave to a longer visit that also covers the towers and museum.

  • Can I just turn up at Sagrada Familia without booking?

Timed tickets need to be purchased in advance rather than bought on arrival, with booking open up to six months ahead. Turning up without a ticket risks the day being sold out, especially in peak season.

  • Is there a dress code for Sagrada Familia?

As a working church, appropriate attire is required: tank tops, strapless tops, bare backs, short shorts, bare feet, and flip-flops are not permitted, and clothing worn for special celebrations is not allowed either.

  • Do I need to arrive exactly at my ticket time?

The timeslot on the ticket marks the entry window, but there is no need to leave by a set time once inside. Arriving close to the booked slot helps avoid delays at the entrance.
