Insider Tips

Check What’s Open: Look up the current exhibit status before you go, since sections of the zoo are often closed for renovation and this affects what you will actually see.
Go Early on a Weekday: Arrive soon after opening on a weekday if you can, since animals tend to be more active and paths are quieter than on weekends.
Visit in the Cooler Hours: Plan around the cooler parts of the day, since many animals retreat from view during peak heat.
Bring Water and Shade: Pack water and sun protection, since some outdoor areas offer limited shade.
Plan One Continuous Visit: Stay inside once you enter, since leaving the venue means you cannot go back in on the same ticket.
