Plan for Two Lines at the Door: Bags go through a security screen, then admission is checked at the box office, where everyone gets a wristband. Keep the ticket open on one phone for the whole group and leave drinks in the car, as bottles are emptied at security.
Come After the Buses: School and camp groups fill the floors on weekday mornings, and weekends are packed all day. Book a weekday slot for early afternoon, when the groups clear out and the hands-on exhibits open up.
Do the Free Headliners First: Your ticket covers the permanent floors only; dome shows, 3D films and the feature exhibition are separate paid tickets. Head straight for the Touch Tunnel and Infinity Climber, where waits reach an hour by midday.
Bring Quarters for the Deck: The fourth-floor balcony looks across to the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty, and its binoculars take coins only. Keep a few quarters in your pocket.

This activity is stroller and wheelchair-accessible.

On-site parking is $7 per car, paid on exit; an overflow lot at the Liberty State Park light rail station is a short walk away.
All bags pass through a security screening at the entrance, and outside drinks are removed there.
Admission is checked at the box office after security and each person receives a wristband.
Some play areas have height limits: the toddler play area admits only the smallest children, and the climbing structures require a minimum height.
A cafe with seating is on the second floor, next to the planetarium.

Is the planetarium included with Liberty Science Center admission?

No. General admission covers the permanent exhibition floors, the live animal areas and the daily science demonstrations. Planetarium shows, 3D theater films and the premium feature exhibition are separate tickets bought in addition to admission at the center, and a planetarium ticket cannot be bought without admission. On busy days the shows sell out, so decide early whether you want one.
Do I need to book Liberty Science Center tickets in advance, or can I just show up?

Book ahead. The center strongly recommends buying online because tickets may not be available on site, and its best admission price applies to purchases made at least one day in advance. Your ticket here is a fixed-date ticket shown on your phone, so choose your visit date before you buy.
What age is best for Liberty Science Center?

The general floors suit children from about 3 to 12 best, with the toddler play area limited to the smallest children and the climbing structures requiring a minimum height. Teens and adults without kids find the included exhibits limited; the planetarium and the feature exhibitions are the main draw for them.
Is my ticket for a specific time, and can I cancel it?
