KL Tower was completed in 1996 after 6 years of construction. It was originally built to be part of the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre complex, but was later completed as a standalone structure.
The tower has 2 observation decks, the Sky Deck and the Atmosphere Deck.
KL Tower is home to the world's highest tandem bungee jump, which is located at the Sky Deck.
The tower also has a revolving restaurant, which makes a full rotation every 80 minutes.
KL Tower is illuminated every night with over 200 spotlights.
On clear days, visitors can see up to 40 miles (64 kilometers) from the top of the tower.

Time It Around Sunset: The best light for photos comes shortly before sunset, when the skyline glows and the crowds thin out. Evening visits near closing also tend to be quieter than daytime.
Skip the Uphill Walk: A free shuttle runs between the entrance and the tower base, so there’s no need to climb Bukit Nanas on foot in the heat.
Use the Free Telescopes: Coin-free viewing telescopes are mounted on the deck for a closer look at the skyline, so you don’t need to bring your own binoculars.
Open-Air Decks Can Close for Weather: The open-air Sky Terrace and Sky Box close for safety in rain or haze; the enclosed Observation Deck stays open regardless. Check the forecast before booking a slot built around the view.

By LRT (Light Rail Transit):

Take the Kelana Jaya Line (Line 5) to Dang Wangi Station. From there, it's a short 5–10 minute walk to KL Tower. A free shuttle service runs every 15 minutes from the main gate to the tower lobby.

By Monorail:

Take the KL Monorail to Bukit Nanas Station. From the station, you can walk to the KL Tower or use the free shuttle service that departs every 15 minutes from the main gate to the lobby.

By Bus:

Several bus routes stop near KL Tower, including 400, 420, 580, and the GoKL City Bus (Purple Line). Look for the stop closest to your destination. The GoKL Purple Line has a designated stop named "KL Tower."

FAQs

Do children need a ticket, and is there a free age?

Children aged 3 and under enter free. Children aged 4 to 11 pay the child rate, and anyone 12 or older pays the adult rate shown at checkout.
Can young children do the Tower Walk 100?

Children aged 4 and under are not permitted on the Tower Walk 100, KL Tower’s open-air 100-metre skywalk, for safety reasons. There is no minimum age for the enclosed Observation Deck or the Sky Deck.
