Insider Tips

  • Ask for a Garden Map at the Entrance: Restoration work can leave sections fenced off on any given day. A map from the ticket office shows what is open before you commit to the walk.
  • Wear Solid Walking Shoes: Steep gravel paths and staircases climb toward the amphitheater and the fort above. Trainers or walking shoes make the climb far easier than sandals.
  • Go Early: Arrive close to opening to beat both the afternoon heat and the tour-group crowds that build through the day.
  • Climb to the Amphitheater Terrace: The view over Florence’s rooftops and the Duomo from the top is the highlight. It is a short, steep climb from the main entrance, so it is worth the effort.

FAQs

  • Do I need to book Boboli Gardens tickets in advance?

Yes. This is a fixed-date ticket, so you choose your visit date when you book rather than at the gate. Booking ahead also means you avoid the ticket-office line at Palazzo Pitti.

  • Does this ticket include the Pitti Palace, or just the gardens?

This ticket covers admission to the Boboli Gardens only. The Pitti Palace and its museums are a separate entrance and a separate ticket.
