Insider Tips

  • Arrive Before 6:45 PM: The museum stops admitting new visitors at 6:45 PM even though the galleries stay open until 7 PM, so plan your visit with enough time to get through the entrance before the cutoff.
  • Slow Down In the New Galleries: Three of the four new exhibition halls are built directly around archaeological remains left exactly where they were found, including sections of the historic aflaj irrigation channels, so spend extra time here rather than walking straight through.
  • Look For the 1910 Fort: The museum is built around the restored Sultan Fort, part of the UNESCO-listed Cultural Sites of Al Ain, so take a few extra minutes in this original structure rather than heading straight to the newer wings.
  • Save the Shop For Last: The on-site cafe and gift shop keep the same hours as the galleries, so there is no need to rush through them before you leave.

Rules:

  • Follow all museum instructions and staff guidelines.
  • Do not touch or handle artifacts and exhibits.
  • Photography and videography are subject to museum guidelines.
  • Maintain a quiet and respectful environment.
  • Do not bring food or drinks into exhibition areas.
