Rules:

  • Eating, chewing betel nuts, and chewing gum are strictly prohibited inside the Main Building.
  • Smoking is not allowed anywhere within the Main Building or the surrounding gardens.
  • Please do not touch any artifacts inside the Main Building. In the gardens, refrain from feeding the fish or littering.
  • When taking photos inside the museum, close-up shots of cultural relics are not permitted. Video and audio recording are also prohibited.
  • Please avoid using flash, tripods, selfie sticks, or any equipment that may disrupt other visitors’ experience.
  • Dangerous or disruptive items—including bottles, firecrackers, lasers, and similar objects—are strictly forbidden inside the venue.
  • Smoking and drinking are not permitted. Visitors found violating these rules will be asked to leave immediately by staff.

Know Before You Go

Entry & Services:

  • This activity is stroller and wheelchair-accessible.
  • People with disabilities and one required companion can enter the museum for free.
  • Children/students aged 6 and above can purchase concession tickets on-site.
  • There is no luggage storage facility available at the venue.
  • In accordance with government epidemic prevention measures, please complete real-name registration and undergo a temperature check before entering. Visitors with a temperature above 37.5°C will be denied entry.
  • Free guided tours in Mandarin are offered daily at 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM (schedule subject to change based on public health conditions).
  • Please follow the instructions of service staff during your visit.
  • There are no restrooms inside the Main Building. Visitors are advised to use the facilities located in the Shilin Official Residence Park beforehand.
  • Admission is free, but to protect the historic site and manage visitor flow, entry may be restricted when occupancy exceeds 100 people.
