Insider Tips

Book Around Last Entry: The lifts stop going up 45 minutes before closing, and the kiosks keep selling until then. For the evening lights, check the closing time for your date and be at the desk an hour before it.
Dodge Cruise Ship Days: With two ships in port the lift queue can pass 45 minutes. Check the Auckland cruise schedule; on a ship day go at the 9.30am opening or return after 2pm.
Time It for Sunset: Arrive 30 to 45 minutes before sunset for daylight, dusk and the city lights on one ticket. Look up the sunset time before choosing a slot.
Shoot From Level 60: The Sky Deck glass is clearer, with none of the black pillars on Level 51, so save your photos for the top and use the free binoculars on the way down.
Skip the Entry Photo Pitch: Staff photograph you before the lift and sell prints at the exit. It is not part of your ticket, so say no thanks.

Rules:

Participants must weigh between 35 kg and 122 kg for SkyWalk & SkyJump.
Participants must have a height of at least 130cm to join the activity for SkyWalk & SkyJump.
If it's too windy, participants must weigh between 45 kg and 127 kg for SkyJump.
This activity is not recommended for individuals with high blood pressure, epilepsy, heart conditions, asthma, or for those who are pregnant.
Participants who appear intoxicated may be refused service. In this case, no refunds will be given.

Know Before You Go

Entry and Services:

Children aged 10-15 must have a signed Parental Consent Form to do the activity.
Participants must be aged 10+ to participate in this activity.
Children aged 10-14 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
All jumps or walks are subject to weather conditions.
Guests are required to sign a liability waiver form that informs them of the risks of the activity.
Lockers are provided for personal items.
If winds exceed 70 km/h for extended periods, we may need to delay or reschedule your activity.
The Sky Tower entrance is not at street level: enter the SkyCity building at the corner of Victoria and Federal Streets and take the escalator down one floor to the ticket desk and lifts.
Paid parking is available in the SkyCity car park (vehicle height limit 2.1 metres).
The observation levels may close at short notice in adverse weather.

Do I need to pre-book Sky Tower tickets?

You can buy at the self-service kiosks on the day, but booking here gives you a fixed-date e-ticket to show on your phone, so you skip the kiosk queue and go straight to the ticket check at the lifts. Bookings are recommended for groups, and this ticket can be cancelled free up to 24 hours before your visit.
What does a Sky Tower ticket include?

General admission covers all three observation levels: the Main Observation Level on Level 51, The Lookout on Level 53 and the Sky Deck on Level 60, with free binoculars on the decks. SkyWalk and SkyJump are separate packages on this page and are not part of the standard ticket, and souvenir photos are sold separately at the exit.
Do children need a ticket for the Sky Tower?

Children under 2 enter free. Older children need their own ticket, priced by age band, and anyone aged 15 or over pays the adult rate. All children must be accompanied by an adult, and the SkyWalk and SkyJump packages have a minimum age of 10.
What are the Sky Tower’s opening hours?

The Sky Tower opens at 9.30am every day and stays open later on Friday to Sunday and through December and January. Last entry is 45 minutes before closing, so check the closing time for your date if you are planning an evening visit.
