Insider Tips

Arrive at Your Entry Time, Not Before: Your ticket is for a set date and time slot, you cannot go in early, and there is only a short window after it. Be at the timed ticket holders’ line as your time comes up; once inside you can stay until closing.
Start at Pier 59 and Finish in the Ocean Pavilion: One ticket covers all the buildings, so keep it to hand to scan between them. Save the Ocean Pavilion, with the big window, sharks and rays, for last.
Check the Feeding Times at the Door: The otters, seals and the giant Pacific octopus are liveliest during the scheduled feedings and talks. Pick up the day’s times as you enter and plan your route around them.
Bring a Layer, Eat Beforehand: Some habitats are open air under cover and the pier is windy, so carry a jacket even in summer. The only place to eat inside is the cafe, which closes at 4pm; outside food is limited to the back deck.

Rules:

Do not touch or harm animals or place anything in exhibits.
Stay in public areas only — don’t cross barriers or enter staff-only zones.
Clothing must be family-friendly.
Commercial photography requires prior approval.
No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property.
No luggage storage available.
Outside food permitted only in designated areas.

Know Before You Go

Entry and Services:

The Aquarium’s habitats and restrooms are wheelchair accessible.
Your reservation tickets are valid only for the selected date and time-early entry is not guaranteed.
Please arrive no more than 15 minutes after the entry time.
When arriving at the Aquarium, follow the signs for the timed ticket holders’ line.
The Aquarium is generally less busy on non-holiday weekdays and after 15:00 on weekends.
Children in strollers are welcome, but the Aquarium does not rent strollers and has no secure storage for them.

Tickets are only valid during the period specified.

FAQs

Do I need to choose a date and time for the Seattle Aquarium?

Yes. Tickets are for the date and entry time you select, and early entry is not possible. Once you are in you can stay until the habitats close at the end of the day.
Does the ticket include the Ocean Pavilion?

Yes. Admission covers all of the Aquarium’s habitats on Pier 59 and the Ocean Pavilion next door, and you move between the buildings on the same ticket.
Do children need a ticket for the Seattle Aquarium?

Children aged 3 and under enter free and do not need a ticket. Everyone aged 4 and over needs a paid ticket.
