Insider Tips

Be at the Gate for Opening: The animals are out in the cool of the morning and retreat to shade once the sun is up. Hours change by season and in the hot months the zoo closes at 1pm, so check the day’s closing time when you book and arrive as the gates open.
Bring a Card, Not Cash: The zoo is cashless, from the entrance to the food stands. Have a card ready.
Plan the Trails Before You Walk: There are 2.5 miles of paths on four trails; Africa and Tropics take about an hour each, Arizona and the Children’s Trail about 30 minutes each. Paper maps are not handed out, so download the map or photograph the board at the entrance, and use the misters and refill stations on the way.

No rainchecks or exchanges are available for e-tickets; exceptions cannot be made under any circumstances.
The holder assumes all risk of personal injury and loss of property and agrees to the posted conditions of usage.
Unauthorized use or duplication of this ticket is strictly prohibited and will result in revocation without refund and ejection of the individual attempting to enter.
No personal pets or emotional support animals allowed.
Smoking, vaping, and e-cigarettes are banned throughout the zoo and Papago Park.
Flash and laser pointers are discouraged, especially during special events like ZooLights.

Can I bring my own food and drinks into the Phoenix Zoo?

Yes. You can bring your own food and drinks, including coolers and ice chests, and there are shaded areas to eat along the trails. Glass containers are not allowed, and anything you buy inside is card only because the zoo is cashless.
Is it cheaper to buy Phoenix Zoo tickets online?

Yes. The price shown above is below the zoo’s own gate rate for daytime general admission. Your ticket is for the date you choose, and children aged 2 and under enter free.
Are the giraffe feeding and camel rides included in the ticket?

No. Admission covers the four trails and every animal habitat. Giraffe feeding, camel rides, the carousel, the Safari Cruiser and the stingray touch experience are paid separately inside the zoo and are not part of this ticket.
