Insider Tips

  • Pick a Date Clear of a Home Match: The dressing rooms are shut to tours on the day before and the day of a home fixture, and tours stop for concerts. Check the fixture list before choosing your date.
  • Book a Morning Slot: Stadium plus museum takes about two hours and late slots run into closing. Go early so you can linger in the tunnel and still see the trophies.
  • Be at Reception 15 Minutes Early: Your ticket is scanned and your handset issued at the Stadium Tours reception, and in school holidays the queue builds. Arrive late and you only join a later slot if one has space.
  • Test the Handset, Then Ask the Stewards: The standard tour is self-guided. Check the handset plays in your language before leaving the desk, and ask the stewards at each stop for the stories it skips.
  • Turn Left for the Museum: The museum and trophy room are a separate building under the Kop. Out of the stadium turnstile, turn left.

Know Before You Go

Entry & Services:

  • This activity is stroller and wheelchair-accessible.
  • All bags are subject to security checks. Large items or luggage are not permitted inside the stadium.
  • Check-in is at the Stadium Tours reception, where your confirmation is scanned and the multimedia handset is issued. Arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your slot; late arrivals are moved to a later tour only if space is available.
  • There is no bag, luggage or pram storage at the tour reception, so leave large bags at your accommodation.
  • Pushchairs and prams are permitted and the tour route is fully accessible, but baby-changing and feeding facilities along the route are limited.

How To Use

FAQs

  • Is the Anfield Stadium tour guided or self-guided?

The standard LFC Stadium Tour is self-guided: you collect a multimedia handset with headphones at reception, follow a one-way route through the press room, dressing rooms, players’ tunnel and dugouts at your own pace, and finish in the LFC Museum. Staff are posted at each stop to answer questions and take photos. Hosted tours with an English-speaking guide run only in school term time from Sunday to Friday, so a weekend or school-holiday booking will be the handset version.

  • How long does the Anfield Stadium tour take?

Allow around two hours for the stadium route and the museum together. Because the tour is self-guided there is no fixed finish time, and fans who read every exhibit in the museum can spend closer to three hours. Tour slots run from mid-morning to mid-afternoon, so a morning booking leaves the most time before the museum closes.

  • Does the Anfield tour include the dressing rooms on match days?

Not on the day before or the day of a home match: the home and away dressing rooms are closed to tours then, and the route skips them while the rest of the stadium and the museum stay open. Full tours also pause when concerts are staged at the stadium. If the dressing rooms matter to you, choose a date at least two days clear of a home fixture.

  • How far in advance can you book an Anfield tour?

Tour dates are released roughly six to eight weeks ahead, once the club’s fixtures for that period are confirmed, and dates around home matches and stadium events are blocked. Tours never run on Christmas Day, New Year’s Day or 15 April, the Hillsborough anniversary. Popular slots in school holidays sell out weeks ahead, so book as soon as your date appears rather than on the day.
