  • Only service animals are allowed in the park; please refrain from bringing other pets.
  • The park facilities on the crater floor of Diamond Head are fully accessible to those with disabilities. 
  • Wear good walking shoes, bring water, and wear a hat and sunscreen.
  • This activity is not stroller and wheelchair-accessible.

Know Before You Go

Entry & Services:

  • Entry and parking reservations required for non-residents.
  • Free for children aged 0-2.
  • Children aged 12+ will be charged the same rate as adults.

Additional Information:

  • Tours are unavailable on major holidays, including New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Honolulu Marathon event days.
  • Diamond Head Crater requires advance reservations (up to 30 days). If unavailable, an alternative hike or a full refund will be offered.
  • Please do not leave luggage in vehicles.
  • Winter surf traffic may prevent a stop at Sunset Beach; a nearby beach will be visited instead if needed.

Prohibitions & Limitations:

  • Guests with high blood pressure, heart conditions, serious medical issues, pregnant women, persons with disabilities (PWDs), elderly guests, and infants.

What to bring:

  • Change of clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses, cash, a towel, and a water bottle.
