Insider Tips

Walk Past the Ticket Queue: The line outside is for walk-up sales. Open your voucher on your phone and go straight to the entrance scanners.
Come Early or Late: Doors open at 9am and the route is one way, so it bunches up from 11am to 2pm on weekdays and until 4pm at weekends. Evenings are almost empty, but the shows have finished by then.
Catch the Penguin Parade: The penguins walk through the crowd once a day in the early afternoon, and their habitat sits off to the side near the exit. Check the schedule board as you enter and claim a spot early.
Park Behind or Ride the Trolley: The paid city garage behind the aquarium fills by mid-morning in season. The free Gatlinburg trolley from the welcome center stops at the door.
Take the Tunnel Twice: The shark tunnel has a moving walkway and a fixed path beside it. There is no time limit inside, so loop back for a second pass.

What is included in Ripley’s Aquarium tickets?

Admission covers every exhibit on both levels, including the shark tunnel, the stingray and touch pools, the Penguin Playhouse and the daily dive shows and penguin parade. The glass-bottom boat ride, stingray feeding and penguin encounters are paid extras sold at the aquarium and are not part of this ticket.
