Insider Tips

Ride the Bus Tour First: It is included with your ticket. Taking it as soon as you arrive gives you the full layout before you decide where to walk. Sit on the right side for the best animal views.
Bring Your Own Water Bottle: Bottled water inside runs close to seven dollars, and the hilly terrain takes hours to cover on foot.
Use the Skyfari Tram to Skip the Hills: It carries you across the park’s steepest sections, saving real walking time between the two ends of the zoo.
Do Not Save the Pandas for Last: The panda habitat and the general grounds close at five, sometimes without a posted warning, so see them earlier in your visit rather than at the end.
Plan for a Full Day: The highlights take four to six hours, and even that is not enough to see everything.
