  • When driving, travel west of the town centre on Larapinta Drive for 6km, where you will find the entrance to the Desert Park. Free vehicle and coach parking.

By Public Bus:

  • Take route 400 to Albrecht Drive, then take a 20 to 25 minute walk to the Desert Park.

  • What are the opening hours of the Desert Park?

    The park is open daily from 7:30 am to 6 pm.
    Last entry is 4:30 pm.
    Nocturnal House is open 9 am to 5:30 pm.
    Suggest a minimum of 3 to 4 hours visit. 
    Closed 25 December.

  • Can I see nocturnal animals?

    Visit the Nocturnal House during the day or join a Nocturnal Tour available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings to see bilbies, echidnas, and other nocturnal creatures in action.

  • Is the park suitable for children and families?

    Yes, it's family-friendly with interactive exhibits, kid-friendly trails, and a safe, spacious environment. Children under 5 enter free.

  • Is the park wheelchair accessible?

    Yes, the park has wheelchair accessible paths, toilets, and offers complimentary wheelchairs or scooters. Companion Card holders enter free.
