Insider Tips

  • Sort Parking Before You Drive In: There is no car park at the zoo itself. Metered parking lines the surrounding streets, and a nearby car park on Frome Road offers a flat weekend rate, so bring coins or a parking app for a weekday trip.
  • Time Your Day Around the Keeper Talks: Keeper talks run at set times throughout the day, including a Giant Panda talk in the early afternoon when the pandas are most active. Check the board near the entrance and plan your route around a talk rather than a random walk.
  • Head Indoors Before 4:30pm: The Reptile House and Nocturnal House close half an hour before general admission ends at 5pm. See them earlier in your visit rather than saving them for last.

Rules:

  • Visitors are not allowed to feed the animals without permission from the staff.
  • Please do not wear strong scented perfume as animals are sensitive to odor.
  • Re-entry to the venue is permitted. Please show your ticket, wristband, or stamp upon re-entry at the entrance.
  • Stay on designated paths and behind safety barriers at all times.
  • Supervise children closely, especially near animal enclosures.
  • No outside alcohol or glass containers allowed inside the zoo.
  • Smoking and vaping are only permitted in designated areas.
  • Do not bring pets into the zoo (assistance animals are permitted).
  • Photography is allowed, but avoid flash as it can disturb animals.
  • Bikes, scooters, skateboards, and rollerblades are not permitted inside.
  • Respect the animals and keep noise levels low.
