The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Phuket is an ethical and sustainable project in Thailand which encourages eco tourism. It started as an initiative between the members of the Karen hill-tribes and Chiang Mai locals who were initially worried about the well-being of elephants in Thailand.
You can also bring your cameras or go pro if you want to capture photos with the elephants you need not worry. Though Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket Tours offers free photography service without extra charges.
Elephants are considered as the most intelligent animal species and therefore the movement is very much important for mental and physical health. Therefore hiking ensures that elephants exercise daily and are not getting overweight. The reason behind mud bathing is that mud & sand creates a cooling effect which is important for the skin which helps it with the sunrays and insects as well. All these activities are created while keeping the elephant's natural behavior in mind.
You should wear loose and comfortable clothes since you will walk with the elephants in the hot weather. Along with that wear sneakers which will really help in the mud. Keep an extra pair of flip flops for bathing the elephants. Apart from that we personally suggest that you bring a hat, sunscreen, a bathing suit, a towel and extra clothes since you will be changing clothes as you will be covered in mud and water
