Keep Energy for the Prisons: The Bridge of Sighs and the cells come at the very end, after the council halls. Pace yourself so you still have time for them, or take the shortcut exit if you would rather skip the cells.

The standard route includes the Armoury, the Bridge of Sighs and the prisons; only the Secret Itineraries rooms require a separate guided tour.
Medium-size bags and backpacks must be left in the free cloakroom before you go upstairs. Suitcases and items over 1 metre in total dimension are not allowed inside.
Last admission is one hour before closing time, and closing procedures begin 30 minutes before the palace shuts.
Even with the lift, the one-way route involves many flights of stairs, including the descent to the prisons and back.

Do I need to buy Doge’s Palace tickets in advance?

Yes. Entry is by dated ticket and popular summer dates sell out, and the walk-up ticket office queue is long in high season. Booking here fixes your date and sends you through the pre-booked entrance instead of the ticket-office line.
Does the ticket include the Bridge of Sighs and the prisons?

Yes. The standard route runs through the council chambers and the Doge’s Apartments, then finishes with the Armoury and crosses the Bridge of Sighs into the old prisons. Only the Secret Itineraries rooms need a separate guided tour, which is not part of these tickets.
Can I buy a ticket for the Doge’s Palace only?

No. Every admission ticket is the St. Mark’s Square Museums ticket, which also admits you to the Museo Correr, the National Archaeological Museum and the Monumental Rooms of the Marciana Library, all reached through the Correr entrance on the square. You do not have to use those admissions, but the price covers them.
Is an audio guide or a guide included?
